Escape From Jupiter
A 90’s sci-fi series where a small group of children from a mining colony on Jupiter's moon, Io, are forced to flee when a volcanic eruption destroys their world. Colonists must flee the moon and try to reach the safety of Earth. Using a derelict space station in orbit of Io, they convert it into a rudimentary spacecraft and set off, having many adventures and forming close relationships along the way.

The series is set in the not too distant future. The mine's administrator is a company man called Duffy who oversees and runs the colony. An older and often regarded as aloof expert, Professor Jacob Ingasole, has been studying the mining operations and the effects of the planet and to the colony.
Disaster - Episode 1: Kumiko, a young computer whiz, is mortified when her planned holiday on Earth is postponed, after her parents are urgently summoned to the mining colony on Jupiter’s moon, Io, to assess a new drilling program.
Trapped - Episode 2: The colony on Io is thrown into chaos, as lava flows explode through the mining tunnels and the colony is hit by fierce Earth tremors, destroying many of the life support domes.
Life Boat - Episode 3: While the adults assess the damage to the colony and stabilise the remaining life support domes, the children rescue their precious belongings and assist with salvage operations.
